Paul Thomas “Tom” Murry, president and CEO of Calvin Klein, and his wife, Lynda, have paid $4.25 million for a home they plan to renovate at 100 Regents Park Road in Palm Beach. The price was listed on a warranty deed recorded by the Palm Beach County Clerk’s office.

Lori J. and Michael E. Bernstein sold the four-bedroom house on a lot near the Intracoastal Waterway just south of The Mar-a-Lago Club. The property was the longtime home of Michael Bernstein’s parents, Susan and the late Louis Bernstein.

With about 6,300 square feet of living space, inside and out, the house was listed for sale at $4.95 million by agents Wally Turner and Candee Weitzman of Sotheby’s International Realty.

Agent Tom Shaw of Linda A. Gary Real Estate represented the Murrys.

Tom Murry joined Calvin Klein in 1996 and retained his position as president and chief operating officer after the brand was acquired by New York City-based PVH (Phillips-Van Heusen Corp.) in 2003. He was named president and CEO in 2008.

The Murrys just sold a house near Jacksonville in Ponte Vedra Beach, where they have owned homes for 15 years, Tom Murry said Wednesday in a phone interview. State records show that Lynda Murry incorporated several companies there under her name. The couple also has an address in Rye, N.Y., according to property records.

“We’ve been going to Palm Beach for over 30 years, staying at The Breakers,” Murry said. “We were looking for a place that’s a little warmer” than northern Florida.

Built in 1959, the French Regency-style house on Regents Park Road was designed by builder Clarence Mack with 12-foot ceilings and gracefully proportioned rooms, according to the Sotheby’s sales listing. Its outdoor amenities include a pool, cabana, gardens and a covered terrace. “It’s in pristine condition,” said Shaw, adding that the Murrys had also considered Jupiter before deciding on Palm Beach as their new home.

Although homes of similar style and era are often replaced by their new owners, the Murrys will soon begin renovations, including the addition of impact-resistant-glass in the windows and doors.

“We really like the house — the style of it and the location,” Murry said. “We looked for over a year for just the right place.”

The Bernsteins still own a home on Kings Road. Lori Bernstein operates a monogramming store in Palm Beach, and her husband is a businessman.

The warranty deed for the sale was dated Sept. 16.
