ArtPalmBeach Celebrating its 13th anniversary, Art Palm Beach is a dynamic event in America’s premier winter destination, hosting international galleries presenting contemporary art, photography, video, installation art, public sculpture, and design. The fair offers collectors, museum curators and trustees, art advisors, architects, and designers, educational lecture series, and VIP events. The Preview Party on January 20th honors the Young Friends of the Norton and the Four Arts Contemporaries.

American International Fine Art Fair Vernissage
The Vernissage preview party, benefiting the Norton Museum, is one of the highlights of Palm Beach’s social season and will be held on February 2nd. Mrs. Annie Falk is the Chairmen of the event which honors the Museum’s top Special Events donors and offers an exclusive first view of the Fair.
Celebrating its 15th year, the American International Fine Art Fair features international dealers representing disciplines of fine art from classical antiquity to contemporary, and the world’s finest collection of haute and period jewelry. The only American fair accorded 5 stars by The Art Newspaper, it is the premier art, antique and jewelry fair in the United States. The fair is fully vetted by leading museum curators and experts.

December 9: Happy Holidaze Shake off the seasonal stress with an artistic night of cheer! Join the Museum’s Chief Curator and Curator of European Art, Roger Ward, as he discusses Vincent van Gogh’s Self-Portrait, 1889, on loan from the National Gallery of Art. Learn about tsutsumu, the art of gift presentation, and the cultural significance of gift-giving in Japan presented by Reiko Nishioka, Director of Education, at the Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens. The Florida Dance Conservatory Youth Ensemble, back by popular demand, will perform scenes from The Nutcracker and carolers from the Alexander W. Dreyfoos School of the Arts will sing seasonal songs in the Museum’s Great Hall and throughout the galleries.
January 13:Scene on the Silver Screen Glamour rules! Celebrate Hollywood’s “Golden Age” through fabulous photographs, film and music. Charles Stainback, William and Sarah Ross Soter Curator of Photography, will discuss the vintage photographs in the special exhibition Made in Hollywood: Photographs from the John Kobal Foundation. Draw your own fashion illustrations with models, provided by GLAM! Vintage. The Palm Beach Poetry Festival will present “Old Hollywood” inspired readings in the Theater, followed by an American classic film, My Man Godfrey1 South Olive Ave., West Palm Beach, 33401. February 10: PARTy @ the Norton Party at the Norton as we celebrate the Museum’s 70th birthday, with art music, film and style. Laurie Barnes, Elizabeth B. McGraw Curator of Chinese Art, discusses gifts made to the Qianlong Emperor on the occasion of his seventieth birthday. Fashion Design Academy at Santaluces High School students present a fashion show and jewelry designer Lou Ann Berkley discusses jewelry-making in celebration of the exhibition of costume jewelry by Kenneth Jay Lane. Tonight’s film is To Catch a Thief (1955), directed by Alfred Hitchcock and starring Cary Grant.
March 10: Mummy Madness The Special exhibition To Live Forever: Treasures from the Brooklyn Museum provides a new view into the world of ancient Egypt. Glenn Tomlinson, William Randolph Hearst Curator of Education, leads a tour about real-life (and death) issues Egyptians faced in preparing for the afterlife. Joe Zeytoonian and Myriam Eli of Harmonic Motion introduce traditional dances and the music of Egypt. Finally, make a scarab amulet and take the Detail Detectives treasure hunt to uncover meaning in ancient artifacts.

Palm Beach Jewelry Art & Antique Show is the largest vetted art and antique show in the U.S. and regarded as one of the finest shows of its kind. The Young Friends of the Historical Society of Palm Beach County and the West Palm Beach Antique Row Art & Design District will host the fifteenth Annual “Evening on Antique Row” on March 6, 2010 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. in the nationally acclaimed antiques district in West Palm Beach. The Evening on Antique Row closes Dixie Highway between Southern Boulevard and Greenwood Avenue with live entertainment, hors d’oeuvres, bicycle rides and more, allowing visitors to explore the area’s 50 unique shops, each offering collections of 17th to 20th century antiques, decorative arts, period furnishings and fine art.
