‘A wow’ when you walk in: 120 Atlantic Ave. sells for $5.8 million

The buyer’s agent, who was not identified by the Palm Beach Board of Realtors Multiple Listing Service , declined to discuss the sale, Olsson said in a response to a query from the Daily News. Olsson also would not discuss the buyer, her clients or specifics of the deal.


The Mediterranean-style house was built in 1990. Although it occupies the third lot east of the sea, the house sold with a rarity — a deeded beachfront parcel measuring about 22-by-25 feet.


“Having that oceanfront parcel is very unusual,” Olsson said. “There are only five others on the block that have one.”


The house stands less than a half-mile north of The Breakers, so its convenience to town was an important selling point, added Olsson, who listed it in April at just under $6.5 million. The Wards paid $3.2 million for in 2002.


The couple has moved to the six-bedroom house they bought for $5.5 million at 232 Emerald Lane. Olsson represented them in that sale opposite the co-listing agents, Johanna S. Kendall and Anne H. Hamilton of Brown Harris Stevens. They later won the town’s approval to carry out a major renovation and addition project at the 1947 house, which has nearly 14,000 total square feet.


The Wards bought the property from the estate of the late horse-breeder Annette Reynolds Ramsing, who shared the house with her late husband, banker and developer Byron L. Ramsing Sr.


Charles Ward built his 30-plus year career in investment banking.
